| The 1st was a mutual aid response with Squad 16 to assist Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company for a gas leak in the 200 block of Church Street in Ephrata Borough shortly after midnight. While crews were still at that call, Lincoln was dispatched to an auto accident with a gas release. Squrt 16 responded withing two minutes.
Upon arrival crews discovered that a vehicle had left the road way, traveled across two yards, went through a fence and hit a tree before finally coming to rest after striking a house. Unfortunately, the vehicle smashed right into the gas meter causing a natural gas release. Crews immediately evacuated the house and got the cash victims to safety. While the meter was damaged, crews were able to secure the leak and await arrival from UGI. UGI arrived, confirmed that the release had been stopped and the vehicle was removed by the tow company. All units were made available at approximately 2AM.
