By using this technology firefighters are able to identify temperature signatures which when projected onto a screen help them to identify fire that may be hidden behind a wall, victims that may be laying on a floor, hot electrical outlets, or even the liquid level in a tank. Like much of our technology, the advances keep on getting better. The cameras are smaller, they can detect more, and have more features. And while the cost has gone down over the years, they are still an expensive piece of equipment that we use to fight fires and save lives. Firefighters will often refer to a thermal imaging cameras as a TIC.
Through the use of your donations, the Lincoln Fire Company is able to purchase and maintain this expensive equipment. Help us, help you. Donate today.
