Did you know that the Lincoln Fire Company trains every Tuesday evening (except for the 1st Tuesday of the month)?

We use these training sessions to go over various skills. It's important to make sure our members know how to use their skills, the equipment, and team work to accomplish various tasks. Additionally, our knowledge base includes firefighting, rescue, medical care, HAZMAT so that we can effectively serve our community. As with anything, practice makes perfect.

This week our members rotated between three different scenarios where they used various lifting devices to accomplish a goal. The first station was lifting a ladder using air bags without spilling a bottle of water placed on the ladder. The second station was using various devices to lift a car off a patient. The task of the third station was to lift havy beams using "sidewinder jacks" in a controlled manner without knocking a chair off the platform.
