As you begin your Christmas decorating, consider these fire safety tips:
- If you have a real tree, keep it watered. A dry tree will ignite much easier and faster. - Check the lights you put on your tree. The lights themselves will not likely be hot enough to start a fire, but frayed wires and broken bulbs can spark a flame. - Keep your tree (real or fake) away from heat sources. - Don't put candles on unstable surface and never leave a candle burning when no one is home. - Take the time to test your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors!
