| Let's talk property! In the very beginning, the Fire Company was housed on Apple Street before relocating to 1425 Lincoln Heights Ave. In June of 1998, the Fire Company held a dedication ceremony for our current station at 38 South Market Street. We still own the Lincoln Heights property with part of it rented out to a local church and part of it being used by the Fire Company for storage and training purposes.
Just like any property, there are costs associated with maintaining the grounds and buildings. We manage to keep those costs as low by having our volunteers do as much of the work as possible. Our volunteers also mow the lawn and shovel snow (after they get done at their own homes). However, there are times where we are unable to do something ourselves and need to hire a contractor. We are gracious to those who have helped us over the years.
Not only does the Fire House serve as a place to store our trucks and gear, but it is also where we train, hold meetings, teach fire prevention, and gather. Enjoy some of the pictures below.
