 	<title>Six Calls During Christmas Holiday Weekend</title>

 <![CDATA[Lincoln was extremely busy during the holiday weekend. On Christmas Eve, Rescue 1-6 was dispatched&nbsp;to assist West Earl Fire Co. on a reported accident with entrapment on Rt. 222 near Peach Rd. The&nbsp;Rescue was canceled prior to arrival.Christmas Day calls began at 27 minutes after midnight with a non-injury accident on Rettew Mill Rd. near&nbsp;Lincoln Rd. The vehicle damaged an electric pole and forced fire police to close off the roadway.At 8:05 am, Engine 1-6-2 and Rescue was dispatched to an accident with injuries at Springville and&nbsp;Schoeneck Rds. Personnel assisted with EMS and spill controlShortly after arrival, Engine 1-6-1 was dispatched to the 800 block of Fairview Ave. for a cardiac arrest. &nbsp;The crew assisted with CPR as the patient was transported to Ephrata Hospital.On Monday, December 26, Rescue 1-6 was dispatched for an odor investigation at an 8 unit town house&nbsp;at 12 Hoover Dr. in Clay Twp. Firefighters spent 1 Â½ hour trying to identify the odor which was in all&nbsp;units. Multiple gas monitoring showed no signs of the odor being flammable.While at this call, Traffic 1-6 was requested with Fire Police to a non-injury accident at S.  <![CDATA[At 27 minutes after midnight, Engine 1-6-1 and Rescue 1-6 assisted the Stevens Fire Co. at 45 S.  <![CDATA[CARBON MONOXIDE RESPONSE REMINDS ALL OF DANGER&nbsp;In the aftermath of the Halloween Snow Storm, sections of the Lincoln Fire District were without power. &nbsp;At approximately 7:18 am, Lincoln along with EMS units from Rothsville and Ephrata, as well as Medic 12, were dispatched to the 300 block of Middle Creek Rd. in Ephrata Twp. &nbsp;A husband and wife were discovered unresponsive due to power being out at their home and the carbon monoxide fumes from an indoor generator. &nbsp;Firefighters ventilated the home and received readings in the 150 parts per million range. &nbsp;&nbsp;The Lincoln Fire Co. reminds all citizens to make sure generators are placed outdoors or are vented to the outside when in use.&nbsp;...]]>

 <![CDATA[Lincoln Fire Co. and other 1st and 2nd alarm stations were dispatched to a working 4-unit townhouse fire at 1078 Hammon Ave., Ephrata Twp. &nbsp;First arriving units found heavy smoke from the second floor of the end unit. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes of arrival. &nbsp;The fire was confined to the end unit, with minor smoke in the neighboring unit.Damage is estimated at $105,000.00, with property saved in excess of $800,000.00.  <![CDATA[Prior to the merger of the Ephrata Area Rescue Service with the Lincoln Fire Co., the Memorial to the firefighters killed on Sept. 11th, 2001 was moved to the Lincoln Fire Station from the Rescue Station. Included in the display is the memorial to the 343 firefighters killed, as well as a piece of the iron from Ground Zero.For the 10th Anniversary Remembrance, the Lincoln Fire Station will be open to the public on Sunday, September 11th from 9 am until noon, should people desire to stop in and view the Memorial.Memorial Ceremonies that day will also be held at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster City at 2 pm and at the Sight and Sound Auditorium in Strasburg at 3 pm.  <![CDATA[With Hurricane Irene hitting the Ephrata area, 15 volunteers stoodby in station during the 24&nbsp;hours of the storm. Many members stayed at home with their families and were still available&nbsp;for calls. During Irene's visit, the company had 3 minor calls: a false automatic alarm at the&nbsp;Ephrata Rec Center, wires arcing in trees in the 200 block of N.
