Prior to the merger of the Ephrata Area Rescue Service with the Lincoln Fire Co., the Memorial to the firefighters killed on Sept. 11th, 2001 was moved to the Lincoln Fire Station from the Rescue Station. Included in the display is the memorial to the 343 firefighters killed, as well as a piece of the iron from Ground Zero.
For the 10th Anniversary Remembrance, the Lincoln Fire Station will be open to the public on Sunday, September 11th from 9 am until noon, should people desire to stop in and view the Memorial.
Memorial Ceremonies that day will also be held at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster City at 2 pm and at the Sight and Sound Auditorium in Strasburg at 3 pm. The public is welcome at those two events.
